Born in the late 60’s in Kitchener, Ontario, it didn’t take long for my curiosity and love of diversity to take me abroad.
A year in Japan and five years at university studying comparative religions, literature, and general science launched me on a life path of keen observation, deep listening, and a profound trust in the process of life.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1991. In 1994 I moved to BC and attended the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. I received a Diploma in Massage Therapy in 1997, and earned my license to practice that year.
I have been in private practice in Vancouver, British Columbia ever since. Initially focusing on sports and rehabilitation massage therapy, I gained expertise in deep tissue, myofascial, and neuromuscular techniques. Knowing how musculo-skeletal balance and structure contribute to function informs my approach to a wide range of injuries and complaints.
My inquisitive nature leads me to ask more questions of the body’s inter-related systems so that I can treat a range of symptoms. I have taken additional training in cranial osteopathy, visceral manipulation, and lymphatic drainage therapy. I continue to advance my skills and understanding with coursework. I have also done clinical and outreach supervision with the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.
In my free time, I have volunteered at WISH in the DTES and the Liptsick Project at Vancouver Hospice and currently do food recovery for the community pantries. I also enjoy hiking, kayaking and open water swimming and am a member of a community choir.
