Born in the late 60’s in Kitchener, Ontario, it didn’t take long for my curiosity and love of diversity to take me abroad.
A year in Japan during high school and 5 years at the University of Toronto studying comparative religions, literature and general science launched me into a life path filled with keen observation, deep listening, pattern identification, and a profound trust in the process of Life. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1991. After moving to BC in 1994, I attended the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver and received a Diploma in Massage Therapy in 1997, earning my license to practice in both British Columbia and Ontario that same year. I have been in private practice in Vancouver, British Columbia ever since. Initially focusing on sports and rehabilitation massage therapy, I gained expertise in deep tissue, myofascial and neuromuscular techniques. Understanding the importance of musculo-skeletal balance and the significance of structure’s contribution to function allows me to offer therapy to a wide range of injuries and complaints. My inquisitive nature has led me to ask more questions of the body’s intricate, inter-related systems so that an even greater range of presenting symptoms can be treated and their root cause(s) identified. To this end, I’ve undertaken further training in cranial osteopathy, visceral manipulation, zero balancing, lymphatic drainage therapy and brain nuclei work. I continue to advance my skills, understanding and intuition with coursework, practice, personal mentorships and public clinic supervision at the West Coast College of Massage of Massage Therapy. In my free time, I can be found enjoying the beauty of nature found on the West Coast through travel, camping, hiking and skiing. I am also navigating the ever-changing waters of parenthood, raising two beautiful children who are my biggest teachers and are currently exploring their teenage years.
